Kitchen Showdown for Resorts World Sentosa — A Mystery Box Challenge
What happens when a team is handed a sealed box, a ticking clock and ingredients they have never cooked together? We found out when we organised a Kitchen Showdown for the team at Resorts World Sentosa, built around one exciting twist: the Mystery Box.
How the Mystery Box challenge worked
Participants split into teams and opened identical Mystery Boxes at the same moment. After a few minutes to plan, they raced the clock to cook and plate a dish for the judges. Every plate was scored on taste, creativity, presentation and how well it used the box ingredients. Communication, quick thinking and teamwork mattered as much as knife skills.
100% halal ingredients
Every ingredient in every box was halal, so every participant could cook, taste and share each dish with confidence. Teams built bold flavour through spice pastes, aromatics, fresh herbs and local favourites, proving that inclusive cooking can be wonderfully inventive.
Highlights from the kitchen
Woks sizzled and laughter filled the room as the countdown ticked on. Teams reimagined Singapore classics using only what was in their boxes, and some plated their final garnish with seconds to spare. Congratulations to the winning team, and well done to everyone who rolled up their sleeves.
